The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner is a professional registered nurse who meets the state Board of Nursing requirements to use the title of and practice as a Nurse Practitioner. Clinical Role
Care delivered by the Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner is commensurate with his/her education, training, and experience, and in accordance with clinic, state, and Federal guidelines as applicable. The Nurse Practitioner assumes ongoing responsibility for the primary care of students’ health needs to include:
1. Diagnosis and treatment of common acute minor illnesses and injuries
2. Diagnosis and follow-up management of stable chronic diseases
3. Provision of preventive health care
4. Ordering diagnostic tests and exams as indicated with follow-up on results as appropriate
5. Arranging for referral to physicians, counselors, and other health professionals, and health care facilities as indicated
6. Documentation in students’ medical records and completion of related forms as appropriate
7. Facilitation of health education both individually and to groups on campus as assigned
8. In collaboration with Director and Physician Medical Consultant, establish and implement clinical policies and procedures
General Duties
1. Meets requirements to maintain state licensure, and national certification
2. Communicates effectively with students, staff, physicians, other health professionals, campus employees, and faculty, thus promoting a positive image at all times
3. Seeks opportunities to promote professional and personal grown through available academic facilities and continuing education activities
4. Works as a member of the Wellness Center team performing all other duties as assigned
Requirements :
 QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERTISE:
Meets requirements to maintain appropriate state licensure and national certification. Two to five years experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a higher education setting. Knowledge of student development and health care needs of college students.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work performed in a clinical atmosphere. Frequent standing for long periods; constant walking; occasional pushing/pulling; occasional bending/squatting. May require lifting up to 25 lbs. Occasional holding and repetitive motion; frequent reaching, grasping and writing. Exposure to hazardous materials and trauma. Constant public contact and communication.
