As an undergraduate nursing student in the first week of my obstetrics and gynecology clinical rotation, I knew that I had found my life's work in women's healthcare.
The female body, with its flow of changing needs and capabilities throughout the lifespan, is always amazing. I find it delightful to work with a woman and her individual needs and goals and help to integrate a wellness plan of care with her. I believe it is essential to help my patients understand the science behind the medicine so that they are comfortable with the decisions they make for their health and for their future.
I have worked to gain as much skill as possible in all aspects of women's health. I have experience in nursing research, as a doula, as an obstetrical and gynecological nurse, and as a women's health nurse practitioner. My work as a nurse practitioner has brought me a vast array of experiences and skills within obstetrics and gynecology. Within my career as a nurse practitioner I have also taught as a clinical nursing instructor, and have worked as part of a sexual response team for assaulted women. I have striven for this diversity so that I can learn as much as possible, and in turn, bring as much as possible to my patients.
My dedication to the health and care of women has only continued to grow, and I look forward to sharing my experiences with my patients in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
