The Dean’s Team Award recognizes outstanding multidisciplinary team contributions in the core mission areas of:  Research, Education/Teaching, Clinical Care and Community Engagement. Multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teams, who promote and exemplify a collaborative, collegial approach and model of working cohesively to serve our mission, will be considered for this award.

The purpose of the Dean's Team Award is to acknowledge outstanding, high-performing, multidisciplinary team efforts and approaches that contribute to advancing our mission. The multidisciplinary and/or interdisciplinary team model should embody and exemplify a sustainable collaborative approach that aligns our collegial community with our mission of discovering and sharing knowledge to advance health.  The nominee’s efforts must clearly contribute to UC Davis Health System being a destination of choice to all those we serve.

Each fall accept nominations of those teams whose multidisciplinary and/or interdisciplinary efforts are an outstanding example of creative, sustained, interprofessional teamwork and demonstrate an ability to collaboratively engage and advance our mission in a transformative manner. Up to one team will be selected in each of the mission areas.  The mission categories are:

  • Education – provides outstanding learning opportunities for students
  • Research – leader in innovative research, making high-impact discoveries
  • Clinical Care – provides high-quality patient-oriented services
  • Community – enhances the qualify of life of our local and regional
    (Community organizations are also welcome to submit letters of support.)

The award winning team(s) receive a cash award and are honored at a recognition reception in the spring. The funds will be deposited into a departmental account to be used for the enrichment of the team’s work.
