Dr. Huntley was the first full-time faculty member of the Department. He was also one of the founding members of the medical informatics graduate group at UC Davis. He retired from the Department of Dermatology after 28 years of service including the last 10 years as chief of the dermatology section at the affiliated the Veterans Administration of Northern California. He continues to serve on the volunteer faculty of the Department. Dr. Huntley’s clinical research involved cutaneous manifestations of internal disease. He has also done extensive research on the value/utility of Internet and e-mail sources of dermatologic information. He is a pioneer in the field of telemedicine and bioinformatics. Dr. Huntley created the first electronic-only medical journal, Medline-indexed Dermatology Online Journal. He also created and runs the 1600+ member dermatology email lists, RxDerm-L and DermChat (freely available, but open to dermatologists and dermatology residents only). Dr. Huntley is currently in practice at Pacific Medical Center in Seattle. |
