Early Intervention
California families whose infants or toddlers have or are at risk for developmental delay or disability can receive assessment and early intervention services through the Early Start Program. The CA Department of Developmental Services is the lead agency, and this website provides information on the program, family support centers, and resources in several languages.
IDA is a membership organization focusing on infants and toddlers with special needs and their families. IDA advocates at the local, state and national level for quality services and provides training and information, including a newsletter and monthly email updates.
DEC is an international membership organization dedicated to improving the educational outcomes for children with special needs, birth through age eight. The website provides position papers on recommended practices, and public policy and advocacy information.
The Center's mission is to examine factors that promote successful transitions between infant/toddler programs, preschool programs, and public school programs for young children with disabilities and their families. The primary objective of NECTC is to investigate and validate practices and strategies that enhance the early childhood transition process and support positive school outcomes for children with disabilities.
