Community Engagement at UC Davis

Improving the health of all members within the greater Sacramento region is the goal of the CTSC Community Engagement Program here at UC Davis. Together with the Center for Reducing Health Disparities, the Community Engagement Program works collaboratively with community members, provider groups, graduate students, and faculty to strengthen UC Davis/community health research capacity. All of our services are based on the goals of fostering collaborative academic-community partnerships and enhancing the public trust in the value of health research.

The CTSC Community Engagement Program at UC Davis is committed to:

  • reducing healthcare disparities, and fostering relationships that promote greater physical and mental health for all
  • forming partnerships with community members, community-based organizations, provider groups, and researchers around health research,
  • focusing on communities that have been traditionally underrepresented in health research.

Our Services

  • Health disparities resources, including articles, statistical reports, websites, and other publications, for residents of the greater Sacramento area, California, and nationally
  • consultation to community members seeking to form partnerships with UC Davis health researchers
  • consultation to UC Davis researchers and faculty wanting to collaborate with underrepresented communities on health research topics, and recruit and retain participants in clinical trials training in community-engaged research,
  • training in developing cultural and linguistic competence for UC Davis researchers
