Mary Manaloto, R.N.-BC, M.S.
Mary Manaloto, R.N.-BC, M.S. started her nursing career at UC Davis Medical Center as an extern, intern, and then RN in the Otolaryngology/Internal Medicine unit on Tower 4 after obtaining her BSN from California State University of Sacramento in 2003. She was a nurse on Tower 4 for over 8 years. As a member of the inaugural class at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing, Mary completed her MS in Nursing Science and Health-Care Leadership in 2012. For her master’s thesis she studied employee perspectives and barriers associated with health flexible spending accounts.
Mary joined the Quality and Safety Nurse Champion team in 2012. In this role she worked with numerous committees and medical-surgical units to improve patient care. She served as the Quality and Safety Council co-chair then chair and was a member of the Central Line-Associated Blood Stream Infection (CLABSI)/ Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infection (CAUTI)/IV Resource Committee, Nursing Pharmacy Medication Safety Committee (NPMS), Sepsis Improvement Collaborative (SIC), EMR workgroup, and Stop Clostridium Difficile workgroup. She was also the CAUTI Prevention Project nurse champion co-lead where she aided with related product conversion, policy review, EMR enhancements, and development of multi-modal educational approaches. She was a Quality and Safety Nurse Champion for 4 years.
Mary’s teaching experiences include undergraduate and graduate student preceptor, departmental preceptor, clinical resource nurse, unit-based in-services on hospital initiatives, skills days for various inpatient units, quality and safety teaching for the nurse residency program, and presentations at Clinical Nurse III/Administrative Nurse II/Nurse Practice Council All Here Days. Mary is currently the School Liaison for CPPN. Mary enjoys working with current and future nurse colleagues in fostering their professional practice and growth.
