Joel Mallari, D.N.P., R.N., C.N.S., C.C.N.S., A.C.N.S.-BC

Joel Mallari is a Professional Development Specialist at the Center for Professional Practice of Nursing (CPPN). Before joining CPPN, he has served in progressive clinical and administrative leadership roles as a clinical coordinator, administrative nurse, and advanced practice nurse in various clinical areas. His clinical background includes open-heart surgery, cardiovascular, medical- surgical, and neurosurgical critical care specialties. Most recently, Joel worked as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) at Dignity Health where he supported the clinical practice of eight acute care nursing departments and specialties through clinical consultations, education, policy development, quality improvement/evidenced base practice, and staff development. He also served as a member of the pain team and co-lead for Patient Experience Committee on pain management.

Joel’s academic background includes Bachelor of Science in Nursing (St. Louis University, Baguio City, Philippines), Masters of Science in Nursing (Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA), and Doctor of Nursing Practice (University of Nevada, Reno). He holds specialty board certifications in adult critical care (CCRN), Acute and Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CCNS), and Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist (ACNS-BC).

Joel is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, California Association of Clinical Nurse Specialist, National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialist, and the Philippine Nurses Association of America- Greater Sacramento Area.
