This class is geared for new nurse preceptors or experienced preceptors interested in gaining developing their preceptor skills, knowledge and practice with at least 1 year of nursing experience and have completed at least one previous preceptor course in the last 5 years similar to the Preceptor Workshop: Getting Started class. This class will provide you with learning activities utilizing various teaching strategies about the key professional elements necessary for the effective and competent preceptor including: resource management, practicing as a safe practitioner, promoting critical thinking, managing time and prioritizing while precepting and tools for communication.
Be courteous and on time. Students are expected to attend and participate in the entire course. Participants will not be allowed to attend the session if they are more than 5 minutes late. Late participants are considered a no show and any deposit will be forfeited.
C.E. contact hours
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 26, for 3.33 contact hours.
The UC Davis Health Center for Professional Practice of Nursing is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Attendees will not receive C.E. credit if they are more than 5 minutes late; no partial credit can be awarded.
