Preceptor Training – Part 1
Course description
This class is part 1 of the Preceptor Training program. Along with the Part 2 class, it is designed for those new to or experienced in precepting new nurses and students. The role of the preceptor will be defined, and participants will learn to facilitate the transition of new employees into their UC Davis Health System roles. This interactive and fun class provides techniques and strategies for addressing common preceptor and preceptee challenges and opportunities. Discussions include: generational differences, adult learning theory, assessment of learning styles, and critical thinking. Provides an overview of the future of nursing and the Nurse Residency Program. The content of this class complements that of the Part 2 class.
C.E. contact hours
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 26, for 6.5 contact hours.
Attendees will not receive C.E. credit if they are more than 20 minutes late; no partial credit can be awarded.

$25 registration deposit. Registration deposit is returned upon completion of class. Cancellation must be requested five days prior to class date to receive deposit refund.

Parking
Parking is available in lot 25, approximately one block from the Broadway Building on 50th Street adjacent to the MIND Institute. Park with a UC Davis parking permit, or purchase a daily permit for $6.
