The Point of Care Testing (POCT) Train the Trainer class is for Patient Care Services ANIIs and CNIIIs designated by their managers as trainers. This class will review assigned POCT tests and a return demonstration will be observed and documented by a clinical lab scientist. The POCT tests will include: Nova StatStrip, Coloscreen, Gastroccult, Urine Dipstick, Urine Pregnancy, Influenza Test, Bacterial Vaginosis and Strep A.
Prerequisites and preparation
The eLearning module for each required POCT test should be completed prior to class. The certificate of completion for each required POCT test must be shown at registration in order to attend. The 2018 POCT modules will be released October 6, 2017.
