Foundations in Pediatric Nursing (Series)
This series of classes is targeted to nurses with 1-5 years of acute care experience. The course will present normal growth and development as the foundation for excellence in nursing practice with this population. Clinical cases will be utilized to demonstrate key concepts in practice and participants will be guided through utilization of cases in application of developmentally focused patient and family centered care. Key content threads will be addressed in addition to the stated focus of growth and development. These threads are: pain assessment and management, medication safety, communicating with patients and families, family centered/relationship based care and utilization of available resources.
