Infection Prevention Update
Topics of discussion will include:
- Personal Protective Equipment - How to Don and Doff Correctly - Content will include all elements of and reasons for Standard Precautions. The correct way to don and doff personal protective equipment (PPE) will be demonstrated.
- Ebola Virus - Lecture will provide the latest news and information regarding the Ebola Virus. Topics covered will include the epidemiology and virulence of Ebola Virus, understanding the treatment options, and discussing prevention and control in a hospital setting.
- Isolation - Back to Basics – Lecture will cover the concept of isolation precaution and a historical review. Isolation practices for infection control will cover triage of patients, early detection, transporting patients, and communication.
- Outbreaks: Measles, Pertussis, Enterovirus 68 - Lecture will cover the pathogenesis of measles, pertussis, and Enterovirus 68. Describing the epidemiology of the three diseases and strategies to prevent the spread of each disease will also be covered.
C.E. contact hours
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 26, for 4.0 contact hours.
Attendees will not receive C.E. credit if they are more than 20 minutes late; no partial credit can be awarded.

$25 registration deposit. Registration deposit is returned upon completion of class. Cancellation must be requested five days prior to class date to receive deposit refund.
$40 registration fee. Cancellation must be requested five days prior to class date to receive a full refund. A $25 service fee will be charged after this date.
