Course description

This course provides an overview of the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) and the operation of the Hospital Command Center (HCC) during emergencies. The course includes hands-on training and use of HICS forms and tools. The course prepares all levels of hospital management to meet Joint Commission standard's and NIMS compliance objectives. This class is by invitation only for UC Davis Health employees who are part of the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS). C.E. contact hours

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 26, for 4.0 contact hours.

Attendees will not receive C.E. credit if they are more than 20 minutes late; no partial credit can be awarded.

Physician Credit: University of California, Davis, Health designates this live activity for a maximum of 4.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.™ Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nurse: For the purpose of recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME. For the purpose of relicensure, the California Board of Registered Nursing accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (report a maximum of 4.0 hours of credit and fill in “CME Category 1” for the provider number).

Physician Assistant: The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) states that AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ are acceptable for continuing medical education requirements for recertification.
