The Emergency Nurses Association Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) is a two-day course designed to provide core level pediatric knowledge and psychomotor skills associated with the delivery of professional nursing care to the pediatric patient. Lecture topics include epidemiology, assessment, triage, respiratory emergencies, respiratory failure, shock, pediatric trauma, child maltreatment, neonatal emergencies, medical emergencies, crisis intervention, environmental issues, toxicological issues, ethical and legal issues, stabilization and transport. Skills stations include airway/ventilation, position/securing, vascular access/medication administration, pediatric multiple trauma, pediatric resuscitation, and triage.
Upon successful completion of the course (written and skills exams), each participant will receive a verification card from ENA Expiration of verification occurs four years from the first day of the month in which the card was issued.
The Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course Provider Manual, 4th Edition and directions to UC Davis Medical Center will be sent to participants upon payment. It is imperative that participants study the textbook prior to the class to prepare for active participation and successful completion.
Prerequisites and preparation
Only registered nurses will be awarded verification cards. LVN's and paramedics may attend the course for C.E’s.
Participants must complete the pre-course modules through ENA. License keys will be e-mailed to participants upon registration.
C.E. contact hours
Provider (ENA) approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 2322 for 15.0 contact hours.
The Emergency Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Attendees will not receive C.E. credit if they are more than 20 minutes late; no partial credit can be awarded.

One month before course date. Please register early; course is limited to 24 participants.
New verification and re-verification option 1
Attend all lectures and skill stations (both Saturday and Sunday). Participants must have the 4th edition of the provider manual (available for purchase) to attend the course.
UC Davis Health System employees: $230 ($290 w/ textbook)
Community registrants: $280 ($340 w/ textbook)
Re-verification option 2
Attend only the testing stations and take the written examination on Sunday afternoon, 1 to 5 p.m.
UC Davis Health System employees: $140 ($190 w/ textbook)
Community registrants: $180 ($240 w/ textbook)
Cancellation must be requested one month prior to the class date to receive a full refund; A $50 service fee will be charged after this date. A $75 materials fee will be assessed if the textbook has been given to the registrant. No refunds will be given fourteen days prior to the course date. If the provider cancels the course, full refunds will be given to registrants.

Free parking is available on 50th Street during the weekend. Parking is also available in lot 25, approximately one block from the Broadway Building on 50th Street next to the MIND Institute. Park with a UC Davis parking permit, or purchase a daily permit for $6 ($3 weekend rate).
