Course description

This course will provide introductory information for practicing nurses on how to work with Microsoft Word and Endnote in your job or school. This course is part of the nursing informatics series of courses offered at CPPN to prepare UC Davis nursing staff to meet the HIMSS TIGER Informatics competencies.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to create a basic word processing document using Microsoft Word 2007/2010 software. The course will focus on creating a document, formatting text, inserting endnote, managing sources, creating and inserting tables and charts. Participants will also be introduced to Endnote and upon completion of the program be able to import citations into the Endnote library, edit output styles and integrate with a Microsoft word document.

This 8-hour introductory program is for UC Davis nurses wanting to become more familiar with informatics tools using in nursing practice.

C.E. contact hours

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 26, for 7.5 contact hours.

Attendees will not receive C.E. credit if they are more than 20 minutes late; no partial credit can be awarded.
