Course # 08576
Registration for the 2015 Biennial CPR Renewal is now available. To successfully renew your CPR certification, you must complete the CPR Online Module and attend a CPR Skills Check. The CPR Online Module is required to be complete prior to attending the CPR Skills Check. Staff must bring their certificate of completion to the skills check session. Class sessions are scheduled (PDF) for 1 hour blocks. Lines typically form at the start of the hour. Staff are encouraged to come at ANY time during the hour for which they are registered.
All employees who are required to maintain their CPR certification are encouraged to renew during this cycle (even those who recently renewed). There will be limited options for those who do not renew during this time until the next cycle occurring in 2017. Employees planning to maintain their CPR certification through an outside agency are not required to attend a renewal class. Employees who have taken CPR outside of UC Davis may submit their card to our office by fax, inter-office mail or e-mail. Only AHA cards can be accepted per hospital policy 3010.
This renewal class meets Joint Commission requirements for UC Davis Health System staff and is recommended for certification of internal UC Davis Health System health-care providers only. Course curriculum follows guidelines based on current research, resuscitative science journals and papers, including the 2010 AHA guidelines for CPR and emergency cardiovascular care.
This is an online module and skills check course. Staff must complete the Online CPR Module, which includes watching a video, reviewing content and completing an exam. When the online module is complete, staff will attend a CPR Skills Check. Length of time: ~1 and half hours for the online module and ~½ hour for the skills check. Staff must demonstrate CPR skills without coaching according to the CPR guidelines. If you do not pass the skills check, you will be required to attend one of a regular CPR class session.
Class size is limited; please sign up early. Cancel your registration if you are unable to attend. UC Davis Health System certificates of completion will be issued to participants who pass the written evaluation and correctly demonstrate skills on the mannequins. If you need an AHA CPR card you should take an AHA course.
