American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider
This course is for health-care professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings who want an American Heart Association CPR card. The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers instructor-led course is designed to provide a wide variety of health-care professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. Class size is limited; please sign up early. Please call to cancel registration if you are unable to attend.
Prior to the course, participants are encouraged to study the BLS for Healthcare Providers student manual. Participants must purchase their own books. Books for purchase are available from the Center for Professional Practice of Nursing, UC Davis Sacramento Store or through the American Heart Association.
Key changes to 2010 AHA guidelines:
Wear loose, comfortable clothing or scrubs. You will be practicing skills that require working on your hands, bending, standing, and lifting. If you have physical conditions that might prevent you from participating in the course, please notify us prior to the course. The instructor will work to accommodate your needs within the stated course completion requirements.

Cancellation must be requested five days prior to class date to receive a full refund. A $25 service fee will be charged after this date. If the provider cancels the course a full refund will be provided.
