Improving patient safety through effective communication is the goal of this class. Communication failures are an extremely common cause of inadvertent patient harm. This course will discuss strategies to improve the effectiveness of our communication and collaboration among caregivers. These are interdisciplinary classes; all health-care professionals are welcome!
Day 1: Setting the Foundation for Successful Conversations is an introductory class. The focus is on cultivating communication skills and identifying ways to create a safe environment for communication to occur.
Day 2: The emphasis of the second class, Building Blocks for Successful Conversations, is to demonstrate methods to integrate communication tools into your professional practice. Time to practice communication techniques will be provided.

The University of California, Davis Medical Center is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Attendees will not receive C.E. credit if they are more than 20 minutes late; no partial credit can be awarded.

$25 registration deposit. Registration deposit is returned upon completion of class. Cancellation must be requested five days prior to class date to receive deposit refund.
$110 registration fee. Cancellation must be requested five days prior to class date to receive a full refund. A $25 service fee will be charged after this date.
