The parking lot addition to Lot 14 south of 2nd Avenue is now complete and open for staff use. The parking area on the east side of Stockton Blvd., between Second and Fourth Avenues on the site of the Sacramento Skills and Business Center is now open and being utilized by construction crews. Construction is proceeding to provide additional staff and contractor parking on the old skills center site. Opening of Lot 14 is scheduled for early next year. For more information on parking, visit the Parking and Transportation Web site. Work on the Surgery and Emergency Services Pavilion and other major projects at UC Davis Medical Center over the next few years will require multiple crews consisting of hundreds of workers and their vehicles. As a result, parking and vehicular and pedestrian traffic routes for staff, patients and visitors will be affected. The health system will direct construction crews, suppliers and other workers to park their vehicles in an area on the east side of Stockton Boulevard, between Second and Fourth Avenues, on the former site of the Sacramento Skills and Business Center. To limit the impact of construction trucks and other heavy equipment on neighbors of the medical center, crews will be directed to use Stockton Boulevard and avoid residential streets. To reach the interior of the medical center campus, drivers will be instructed to use X Street and Second Avenue.
