Privacy and Security Training

School of Nursing graduates. ©2012 UC Regents. The Compliance Department offers 2 different training paths for the mandatory UC Davis Health Privacy and Security course. Providers, faculty, UC Davis students, and staff need to take the course in the Learning Management System (LMS). All other individuals, including volunteers and vendors, should take the other course. The content of the course is the same in both cases.

CMS Required Compliance Training

CMS requires all Medicare Advantage Organizations and Medicare Prescription Drug Plans (Sponsors) to validate that their first-tier, downstream and related entities (FDRs) have completed the mandatory CMS compliance trainings. As an FDR of our Sponsors, UC Davis Health fulfills the CMS compliance training requirement by providing the CMS training content to all new and returning employees in the Mandatory Annual Training course. This requirement is not limited to employees who work directly with patients nor to those who work directly with Medicare and Medi-Cal patients.

NOTE: The UC Davis Health Compliance Department is presenting this training per the CMS Medicare Program training requirements. The training is intended for a general audience and is not role-specific. In order to comply with CMS instructions, the content of this packet is a verbatim presentation of the Medicare Learning Network® materials.

This course was originally presented as a Web-Based Training (WBT) course with an online Post-Assessment quiz and accompanying certificate. Please disregard the document’s references to its web-based features and the instructions for printing a certificate. No certificate is required.
