Join the Mentoring for Success Program
Who are the mentees?
- Registered nurses transferring between units
- Re-entry nurses (R.N.'s with less than five years break in practice)
- New graduates (R.N.'s)
Why should I join the mentee program?
- Opportunity to be supported by a more experienced nurse for a year
- Chance to be introduced to key leaders within the unit & hospital culture.
- A chance to meet other mentees during the Friday mentee groups.
- CEU credits and/or BSN or masters level elective educational credit for the online courses
- Simulation training to prepare for crisis situations
- Books to study for ANCC certification
- Create-Our-Logo and A-Memorable-Story-From-Practice Contests
Mentor qualifications
- Work the same unit as the mentee.
- A desire to mentor.
- Clinical competence and positive communication skills.
- Involvement in the hospital culture.
Why should I volunteer to be a mentor?
- Opportunity to support a new nurse.
- A chance to see other mentors during the Friday mentor groups.
- CEU credits and/or BSN or masters level elective educational credit for the online courses if desired (optional)

- A stipend for Nurse Mentors
