Polly Butler, D.T.R.

Polly Butler, D.T.R., received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Dietetics from California State University, Chico. She began working at UC Davis Medical Center in 1987 in the Food and Nutrition Department.
As a Registered Dietetic Technician (D.T.R.) in the Food and Nutrition Department at UC Davis Health System, Polly supervised the diet office and hostess staff, provided clinical nutrition care to patients and was the System Administrator for Computrition, the department’s computerized Food and Nutrition system.
Polly is a member of the American Dietetic Association (ADA), the California Dietetic Association and is currently the Chair for the Dietetic Technician Practice Group for the national organization, ADA.
Polly joined the Center for Nursing Education in October 2002. Polly’s background prepared her perfectly for her new responsibilities in CNE. Her organizational skills serve her well in coordinating classes, as department computer liaison, system administrator for Web-based education (HealthStream) and digital video production. She also assists with maintenance of the CNE and wellness Web sites and uses her nutrition education background in teaching some patient education, CPR and computer classes.
