Course description

This class will provide additional skills to the preceptor and focus on:
  • Developing critical thinking skills in the preceptee.
  • Implications of the different generations between preceptor, preceptee and unit staff.
  • Strategies for dealing with conflict.
  • Evaluating performance and providing feedback.
  • Taking care of yourself - stress management.

Prerequisite

Participants must have completed Preceptor Training - Part 1 and successfully precepted a new employee.

C. E. credit

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 26, for 7.2 contact hours.

UC Davis employees

$25 registration deposit. Registration deposit is returned upon completion of class. Cancellation must be requested five days prior to class date to receive deposit refund.
