Palliative Care: Ethics and Communication
Course description
This class presented by the Evidenced-Based Practice Palliative Care Group will present the ethical, legal and communication challenges of transitioning a patient from curative treatment to palliative care. Speaker Ben Rich, J.D., Ph.D. will cover the ethical and legal issues and John Mac Millan, M.D. will discuss the formation of a Palliative Care Team at UC Davis Health System and cover the communication issues in palliative care. A panel discussion with case scenarios and a presentation by Melvin Whitlock, in-house donation coordinator will complete the curriculum.
C.E. credit
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 26, for 4.8 contact hours.

$25 registration deposit. Registration deposit is returned upon completion of class. Cancellation must be requested five days prior to class date to receive deposit refund.

$48 registration fee. Refund must be requested five days prior to class date and will be subject to a $25 service charge.
