Course description
The Emergency Nurses' Association Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) is a two-day course designed to provide core level pediatric knowledge and psychomotor skills associated with the delivery of professional nursing care to the pediatric patient. Lecture topics include epidemiology, assessment, triage, respiratory emergencies, respiratory failure, shock, pediatric trauma, child maltreatment, neonatal emergencies, medical emergencies, crisis intervention, environmental issues, toxicological issues, ethical and legal issues, stabilization and transport. Skills stations include airway/ventilation, position/securing, vascular access/medication administration, pediatric multiple trauma, pediatric resuscitation, and triage.
Upon successful completion of the course (written and skills exams), each participant will receive a verification card from E.N.A. Expiration of verification occurs four years from the first day of the month in which the card was issued.

Course materials
Textbook and directions to UC Davis Medical Center will be sent to participants approximately 30 days prior to the course.
Prerequisite
Only registered nurses will be awarded verification cards. L.V.N.'s and paramedics may attend the course.
C. E. credit
Continuing education contact hours are authorized by the Emergency Nurses' Association through the Central Regional Accreditation Board (American Nurses’ Association). Provider (E.N.A.) approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 2322 for 15.33 contact hours.

Refund policy
The E.N.A. registration fee of $60 will be retained. A $60 materials fee will be assessed if the textbook has been given to the registrant. No refunds will be given after one month before the course date. If the provider cancels the course, full refunds will be given to registrants.

Parking
Free parking is available on 50th Street during the weekend. Parking is also available in lot 25, approximately one block from the Broadway Building on 50th Street next to the M.I.N.D. Institute. Park with a UC Davis parking permit, or purchase a daily permit for $4 ($2 weekend rate).
