Course description

This class is intended to take you back to the basics of documentation. Looking at the who, what, where, how, why and when of documenting. Establishing a baseline assessment and how we can best treat the patient should be the focus. If we keep the patient safe, we keep us safe.

Topics include

  • History and rationale of documentation
  • Impact of nursing documentation on litigation
  • Documentation tools and techniques
  • Mandated requirements for documentation
  • Integration of paper & computer
  • Utilizing the EMR to its full potential

C.E. credit

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 26, for 6.7 contact hours.
