Center for Nursing Education
The Center for Nursing Education (CNE) is part of the UC Davis Health System, which includes the clinical faculty, highly skilled health-care professionals and support personnel of UC Davis Medical Center, and a geographically dispersed network of primary-care providers. CNE offers a variety of continuing nursing education courses, self-study modules, community outreach classes, and health education programs. To meet the rapidly changing needs of health-care professionals, CNE continues to explore new learning communication technologies, which include distance education through teleconferencing and computer based courses on the Web.
UC Davis Medical Center is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. The Center for Nursing Education is approved by the Board of Registered Nursing as a provider of continuing nursing education and for MFCC and LCSW licensure through the California Board of Behavioral Science.
In 2004-2005, CNE offered over 970 different educational opportunities providing ~30,000 continuing education hours for over 15,000 nurses and health professionals.
