Featured Clinical Trial — Treating severe hand eczema

What is this study evaluating?

This study is evaluating the effectiveness and safety of a new medication that is taken by mouth daily to treat severe hand eczema.

Why is this trial important?

The American Academy of Dermatology says that while the cause of eczema is unknown, the condition appears to be an abnormal response of the body’s immune system. The inflammatory response overacts to irritating substances in people with eczema, causing itching and scratching. Eczema is not contagious and, currently cannot be cured. Various medications are available to treat the disease. The National Institutes of Health estimates that 15 million people in the United States have some form of eczema.
