Title: Recruitment Recourse and Action Plans – Keys To Recruitment and Retention Success

 Learning Objectives:

 At the end of the session, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the role, value and purpose of recruitment resource and action plans
  • List the elements of a recruitment resource plan (RRP) and a recruitment action plan (RAP)
  • Name several traditional as well as social media tactics that can be used to recruit subjects for clinical trials
  • Explain how to integrate tactics into the RRP and RAP for effective recruitment planning and management

 Program Description: Benjamin Franklin is credited with the famous saying, “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.” No where is planning more important than the world of clinical trial patient recruitment and retention where historically the majority of sites fail to enroll what they plan and the majority of studies fail to enroll on time. Patient recruitment is complex and doesn’t happen by “spontaneous combustion”. This interactive session will explore the theory and practice of recruitment resource and action plans. Recruitment Resource Plans (RRPs) are critical for establishing clear expectations, budgets, resources and materials during the study start up phases. Recruitment Action Plans (RAPs) are essential documents for managing the implementation of recruitment and retention strategies. Together they translate ideas about tactics for building study awareness into actionable plans that sponsors, CROs and sites can use to ensure study success. In addition to evaluating these two documents, the session will take a fresh look at both traditional and new tactics for recruiting and retaining patients and how to best integrate the ideas into the plans.
