Eczema or Psoriasis
Adults with atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis or psoriasis, and adults without these diseases may join a study to help researchers identify better treatments.

Autism
Children between five and 17 years of age, diagnosed with autism, may participate in a study of a medication for reducing repetitive behaviors.

Multiple Sclerosis
Adults with secondary progressive multiple sclerosis are needed for a study that is evaluating a new medicine given once every six months to treat the disease.

Gastric Bypass
Adults who are undergoing a gastric bypass surgical procedure may participate in a study looking at why some patients have a higher incidence of developing kidney stones or kidney disease after the surgery.

Skin Disease
Adults between 18 and 85 years old are needed for a study that will use genetic analysis to identify the cells of the immune system that cause skin diseases such as psoriasis and mycosis fungoides.

Depression
Adults who have been treated for depression or know someone who has are needed for a focus group on why people might or might not seek treatment for depression.

Autism

Liver Disease
People with liver disease caused by alcohol, who are not infected with hepatitis B and C and are willing to stop drinking for six months, may be eligible for a study evaluating the effect of the supplement SAMe on the liver.

Lung Disease
People between the ages of 40 and 74 who have been diagnosed with severe emphysema may join a study that is evaluating whether a new device can reduce shortness of breath, one of the major symptoms of this disease.

Macular Degeneration
People diagnosed with a more serious form of macular degeneration, called wet macular degeneration, are needed for a study of the effectiveness of combining two therapies to treat the disease.
