What is a Webcast?
Conceptually, a Webcast is an audio/video transmission direct to your computer. We broadcast live and archived events such as Continuing Medical Education Grand Rounds over the UC Davis Health System network. You can view these events with a properly equipped computer and web browser software.
What are minimum system requirements?
Why can’t I watch video events with a 56k or lower modem connection to the Internet?
Currently only 240k or higher Internet connections (such as DSL and cable modems) are supported. The quality of the image being transmitted at 56k or less is too degraded. Images will be fuzzy and text unclear, the video won’t play back properly, and/or your computer system will lock up.
I get network congestion error messages from media player. What can I do?
Depending on your network environment you may be experiencing high network traffic/congestion. Try viewing the webcast during the early morning or late evening hours when there is less network traffic/congestion.
