How meglitinides work
- Works on the pancreas to increase insulin production
Guidelines for use
- Take 0-30 minutes before meal
- Must be taken only with meals
- May be prescribed with other medications for treatment of diabetes
What to do if a dose is forgotten
- It can be taken if it is less than 2 hours from your normal dosing time
- Do not take 2 doses at the next meal
Side effects
- Low blood sugar
Who should NOT take this medication
- Some people with kidney or liver disease may need to adjust their dose
- Pregnant women
