Diabetes: Let's Get Started

startLet’s Get Started is a 2 hour basic diabetes class for patients newly diagnosed or wishing to learn updated diabetes self-management skills.

Topics covered in the class include:

  

  • Understanding basic diabetes physiology
  • Basic nutritionion concepts
  • Target blood sugar ranges
  • Identifying high and low blood sugars
  • The benefits of physical activity

The classes are open to UC Davis Health System Patients and Employees. These classes are offered in the Lawrence J. Ellison Ambulatory Care Center (Ellison Building) in Sacramento on the Third Floor, and  UC Davis Medical Group clinics.
