Donald M. His studies include pharmacologic, psychosocial and service interventions for patients with mood disorders. He participated in multiple inpatient clinical trials for bipolar disorder. Dr. Hilty designed and oversees clinical and research telepsychiatric services to 50 rural sites in California. Current studies include: 1) design of virtual reality simulations on the web to elucidate patients' psychosis and teach others; 2) use of technology to treat mood and obesity; and 3) exploring the relationship between telepsychiatry and culture, through a needs assessment and an open trial of American Indians. He consults on telehealth and telepsychiatry internationally. |
