Residency Application

All positions are filled through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Details of the NRMP requirements can be found in the NRMP Handbook for U.S. Medical Students. All applications for our program must be submitted to ERAS by November 1, 2008, in order to be considered for the positions available for the 2009/10 academic year.

We are only accepting Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) applications. Contact the Office of Student Affairs at your school for instructions on how to apply using ERAS. Make sure you include a one-page personal statement. Do not be modest. If you believe you have done exceptional things or have an interesting background, tell us!

1. Dean’s Letter of Recommendation
2. Three (3) Letters of recommendation from faculty sponsors
3. Your medical school transcript
4. USMLE Step 1 score (required) and USMLE Step II (if available)

All applications are screened by our Selection Committee and offers for interview are made after the reviewing of the Deans Letter. Committee members are all faculty of the Department of Pediatrics. We are limited to interviewing only 120 applicants per year for 12 positions.

All applicants will be notified promptly by contacting ERAS as to when their application was received in the Residency Recruitment Office. In most situations, the Dean’s letter must be reviewed before an interview offer will be made. Typically, offers for interviews will be sent by e-mail the second week of November.

 Interview schedule:

Interviews will be scheduled to start November 20, 2008 and will end January 16, 2009. Unfortunately we will not be able to offer interviews during the Thanksgiving holiday November 27, 2008 to November 30, 2008 season and the winter holiday starting December 22, 2008 to January 4, 2009.
