Advocacy training for residents
Elective experiences
Although we have a very structured child advocacy training program at UC Davis, we also encourage residents to participate in elective experiences. In much the same way that you may complete a research project and receive credit towards graduation during your training, you may also complete your own custom designed advocacy project.
The establishment of the HOPE clinic is an excellent example of a resident-initiated advocacy project. Other resident-initiated projects have included:
- Community or school health fairs
- Book drives
- Childhood obesity education programs
At UC Davis, we will do everything we can to encourage and reward you for participating in child advocacy projects.
