Radio stations throughout North America partner with Children's Miracle Network to hold radiothons in their communities. These radiothons raise money locally to help kids at affiliated Children's Miracle Network children's hospitals. Radiothon Sacramento is the most moving and compelling radio you will ever hear. For 36 hours - three days and nights, local radio stations break from their usual format so that families of patients at UC Davis Children's Hospital can tell their stories of inspiration, hope and healing. Now in it's eighth year, our stations, 98Rock, KWOD 106.5, Smooth Jazz 94.7 KSSJ, 96.9The Eagle, 107.9 The End, and ESPN 1320AM, has raised more than $3 million, touched thousands of volunteers and has been supported by community and corporate Miracle Makers, such as Foresters, who underwrites the costs of the Radiothon nationwide, Wild Bill's Tattoo's - over $16K last year, Silverado Middle School, which raised over $6000, and Kentucky Fried Chicken helped raise over $35,000 with their Miracle Meal.

With us, it's personal. During our 3-day event, to be held February 21 - 23, 2008, stations program a mix of patient stories, facts and interviews into regular programming to raise awareness of and funds for UC Davis Children's Hospital. Keeping with the CMN tradition, all funds raised locally stay local, benefiting the sick and injured children that visit UC Davis Children's Hospital each year through special programs, services, life-saving equipment and cutting-edge research.

Every donation, large or small, symbolizes a commitment to the health and well-being of kids in our community. Gifts help us to deliver state-of-the-art treatment, translate promising research from the laboratory bench to the bedsides of patients, and train the next generation of pediatricians.

Want to be part of the “change – we are calling all loose change, couch change and left over change from your morning coffee to help make change for kids. We hope to raise some serious “coin” with this year’s “Coins for Kids” program and kick off the 2008 Sacramento Radiothon with your favorite radio stations. This is an exciting and fun way to get your family, co-workers and friends to make a difference – change a child’s life. Companies, departments within companies, schools, clubs and organizations can all become part of Coins for Kids through our friend-to-friend fundraiser page.

Sacramento Credit Union has sponsored this event again and offers some great “thank you” gifts for being involved. Radiothon runs from 6am Thursday, February 21st through 6pm Saturday, February 23rd. Collect a minimum of $25 in coins and you'll get an Invitation to our "Coins For Kids Party", Hosted by 107.9 The End's "Wake Up Call" on Sunday, February 17th from 4 - 8 p.m. at Strikes Family Entertainment Center at 5681 Lone Tree Blvd in Rocklin (ph. 632-8200).
