UC Davis Children’s Hospital

Tele-Newborn Feeding Program

Neonatal-Craniofacial Advanced Practice Specialists at UC Davis Children’s Hospital use telemedicine to provide consultations to parents with newborns with craniofacial abnormalities such as cleft lip and cleft palate. This program allows parents to bring their newborn to their local healthcare provider’s office and obtain consultations with the specialists at the UC Davis Children’s Hospital without traveling to Sacramento. The specialists at the UC Davis Children’s Hospital are able to provide advice to parents and healthcare providers about the unique feeding needs of babies with craniofacial abnormalities and teach appropriate feeding techniques.
