The specific goals and objectives of this program include:

• Centralize all coding education and training for UC Davis Health System.
• Train physicians, providers and staff how to code.
• Ensure a continual pool of qualified coders are available for hire.
• Assist incumbent workers with the opportunity to promote within the health system.
• Develop and implement a pathway for employees who wish to obtain coding certification.
• Provide continual coding education and training to all staff responsible for coding, including updated coding information, revisions, and changes.
• Enhance coding accuracy and consistency through customized educational and training.
• Provide compliance and code of conduct training to all physicians, providers and staff.
