New physician billing compliance training
The "Billing Compliance for Physicians" course serves as an introduction to the Code of Conduct, HIPAA, and other billing compliance expectations within the UC Davis Health System. This training can be taken on-line by following the links below or requesting an instructor-led course by contacting Connie Greening at
(916) 734-3292.
This is a required course for all new physicians as stated in health system's Corporate Compliance Plan.

The health system will not release charges on your behalf unless completion of this course is recorded.

The Coding Education and Training program will not record completion of this course until receipt of Module 5 (Course Evaluation and Attestation Statement).

It will take approximately two hours to complete this course.

Module 1:
Overview of UC Davis Health System Policy on Teaching Physician Guidelines for Professional Fee Billing.
Required for all providers.
Module 2:
Documentation Requirements for Evaluation and Management Services
Required for all providers that render Evaluation and Manangement services.
Module 3:
From the UCDHS Compliance Web site, read the complete Code of Conduct.
Required for all providers.
Module 4:
From the UCDHS Compliance Web site, complete the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) provider self study module.
Required for all providers.
Module 5:
Course Evaluation and Attestation Statement.
Required for all providers.
Course will not be recorded until receipt of this document.
