The University of California, Davis, School of Medicine seeks an academic leader to chair the Department of Cell Biology and Human Anatomy. 

  • We seek candidates with a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and training in molecular, cellular, or developmental and molecular biology, or related field.

  • The successful candidate is expected to have an internationally distinguished record in research, teaching, administration and program development, excellent interpersonal skills as well as a strong vision to further the development of the department and to implement initiatives to meet the challenges of academic medicine. 

  • The candidate should have demonstrated ability to meet the challenges of academic research and to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment. This is a state funded position (FTE) within the School of Medicine.

The Department of Cell Biology and Human Anatomy has nine full-time Ph.D. and M.D./Ph.D. faculty in a variety of research areas, including stem cells, tissue regeneration, development, and cytoskeleton. The Chair will also be responsible for continued growth of the department, through the recruitment of new faculty.  Each new position will be accompanied by the resources needed to ensure recruitment of outstanding faculty.
