Nutrition
Cancer treatment can have a major impact on your nutritional needs. If you are a patient at UC Davis Cancer Center, an oncology dietitian can help you maintain good nutrition during your treatment. Our experienced dietitians can provide information and advice about:
- how nutritional needs change through treatment and what's important nutritionally at every stage of treatment
- specific nutritional needs for different types of treatment
- coping with treatment-related side effects that may interfere with good nutrition, such as dry mouth, queasiness and poor appetite
- the role of nutritional supplements in cancer treatment — what might help, and what to avoid
If you would like to have a consultation with a UC Davis Cancer Center oncology dietitian, please ask your nurse or doctor for a referral.
