Grants and Awards
Through funding from the National Cancer Institute, the American Cancer Society and through institutional support, the UC Davis Cancer Center makes available grants, project funding, and developmental awards to encourage pilot studies. Grants are awarded on an intramural basis; this means 1) that decisions are made locally by Cancer Center leaders or special faculty panels and 2) processing through the Office of Research, the School of Medicine, etc., are not required of applicants. Project funding utilizes limited discretionary funds under the authority of the Cancer Center director. Developmental awards are specifically funded by the National Cancer Institute through the center's Cancer Center Support Grant to advance work within the scientific programs.
