Triumph Fitness Program for Cancer Survivors

Triumph is a 10-week strength-and-fitness program for people who have recently completed cancer treatment. The program was originally made possible by an award from the Lance Armstrong Foundation to Pam Whitehead, a Sacramento architect and cancer survivor. The program continues to operate thanks to Pam's fundraising efforts in the Sacramento area.
Participants build muscle mass and strength, increase flexibility and endurance, and improve their capacity to perform activities of daily living, from work to play. Triumph may also help to reduce the severity of cancer side effects, prevent unwanted weight changes and improve participants' energy levels and self-esteem.
The ultimate goal is to help participants develop their own physical fitness regimens so that they can continue to triumph after completing the program.
