The Division of Surgical Oncology at UC Davis Cancer Center provides comprehensive surgical evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and management of cancers in both children and adults.

UC Davis Cancer Center and UC Davis Medical Center, where surgeries take place, are nationally recognized for their advanced technologies and surgical oncology research. Our highly skilled, board-certified surgeons were among the first in the world to use radiofrequency ablation to treat liver tumors and early stage breast cancers, for example, and our urologic oncologists were the first in the region to offer robotic prostatectomy. 

Our surgeon-scientists are actively engaged in laboratory research to study the causes of and new treatment approaches for cancer. In addition, surgeons at UC Davis Cancer Center initiate and participate in many clinical trials designed to improve the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Clinical trials coordinated by the Division of Surgical Oncology include:
