Gynecologic Cancer
UC Davis Cancer Center is home to the largest program in inland Northern California for the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological cancers, including cancers of the uterus, ovary, cervix and vulva.
Women can take comfort in the experience of the gynecological oncologists at the UC Davis Cancer Center, who are the pre-eminent providers of gynecologic cancer treatment in the Sacramento region and are entrusted with training the next generation of specialists. Our Gynecological Cancer Program includes board-certified physicians with extensive experience in:
- gynecologic oncology
- medical oncology
- radiation oncology
Our multidisciplinary treatment team also includes:
- social workers
- nurse practitioners
- dietitians
- genetic counselors
- pain medicine specialists
The most advanced treatments
The close collaboration among our doctors and our research scientists means that new drugs and treatments developed in the laboratory can quickly move to the clinic, offering our patients immediate access to the latest therapies. For example, our physician-scientists are looking for a blood marker that would allow early detection of ovarian cancer. We were also instrumental in the development of the liquid Pap test.
Our clinical trials program is one of the largest in the country. UC Davis Cancer Center is an affiliate member of the Gynecology Oncology Group, offering our patients access to the newest drugs and therapies before they become widely available.
Treating the whole patient
At the UC Cancer Center, we are dedicated to caring for the whole patient. We offer:
- An ovarian cancer support group
- "Look Good ... Feel Better," an American Cancer Society program
- Psychosocial counseling
- Patient education classes, lectures and newsletter
- For patients who participate in a clinical trial, access to our award-winning simultaneous care program
- A Cancer Resource Center
