Individual Therapy Program
The CAARE Center's Individual Therapy program provides help for children of all ages. Therapists working with children ages three through 12 years old most often employ play therapy, cognitive-behavioral interventions, and parent consultation to bring about changes. Children younger than three are helped by the therapist working with the parents to assess what changes in daily routine, discipline, and support are needed to correct problematic behavior and ease emotional distress. Adolescents, however, are typically engaged in interpersonally focused therapy wherein the focus is on identifying the destructive patterns of behavior and thinking that mark their often troubled relationships. Staff working within the Individual Therapy Program maintain a high standard of ongoing continuing education, supervision, and consultation in order to best assure that the highest quality of service is provided to our patients Moreover, staff from this program conduct training in the treatment of abused and neglected children at regional and national conferences.
