An initial one-hour consultation is provided free of charge to UC investigators, prospective client State or Federal agencies, and prospective client non-profit organizations. Financial support for assistance with grant applications is expected if funding is available; otherwise such assistance will be provided through an arrangement agreeable to both parties.

For funded projects, some level (5% or more) of salary support will be requested to support a faculty consultant as a collaborator. Rates for computer programming, data management, and Web/application hosting vary and are negotiated between BIRCS and the client organization.
