Dr. Brian Pitts

Clinical/Research Interests

My name is Brian Pitts.  I’m an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine with over eight years experience with the UC Davis Health System.  My clinical area of focus is ultrasound guided regional anesthesia.  I also provide compassionate anesthesia care to a wide range of adults undergoing complex surgical procedures.  I believe that each patient is unique and deserves the highest quality of compassionate care available.

I study how effective teaching strategies help medical students, residents physicians, and practicing physicians provide safe and effective patient care. My work with the UC Davis School of Medicine focuses on curriculum design, competency assessment, and LCME accreditation.

Specialties: regional anesthesia, medical education, curriculum design, distance education, continuing medical education, and medical simulation.
